025 - A thorough and proper investigation

[Private to the Admiral]
I need... Prefect-- My inmate's

Admiral. Please restore Prefect ASAP. In the Infirmary, if you could. I've locked the crime scene his room up.

[Filtered to Wardens]
Why-- why is there COCAINE on this fucking Barge?!

...

One of your Inmates has committed a homicide. Judging by the shoe size, it's a man do we even have a free roaming female inmate?, wears something of a size [insert UK shoe size here]-- or, rather, [insert actual, numerical measurement]. This appears to be a drug-related crime, so any Inmate with a history of using, I'd like the names of-- privately, if you'd like. Check for any Inmate who's missing a mattress-- don't ask-- and who may have blood on his clothing and the bottom of his shoes.

Hopefully, he hasn't destroyed the evidence yet.

DO NOT TALK TO YOUR INMATES ABOUT THIS. The last bloody thing I need is them conspiring with each other to withhold the truth.

This place ought to be placed under a lockdown.

I'll be in the Infirmary.

[OOC: Follows this thread. Sam has taken note of the crime scene, found some cocaine, the weapon, footprints, and an extra mattress. Also, he's taken note of the injuries on Prefect and sketched them-- having no camera-- before locking the room up and having the Admiral restore Prefect at the Infirmary. So, action spam with him at the Infirmary, or respond to the journal!]

LOL I'M SO COOL

What happened?!

[Private] I'll conflict YOUR interest! >: [

[identity profile] autistic-genius.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Maybe I can help? I, uh, study criminal behavior at the FBI.

I'm sorry to hear about your inmate.

[Prefect sits up somewhat abruptly in the infirmary, one hand going over his chest almost immediately, as if checking for his own heartbeat.

After a minute, he looks at Sam.]

...

Hi Comrade.

[identity profile] buywithme.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kind of stupid is how he feels, but Prefect doesn't want to say that.]

All right.

[He pauses, fairly certain that he's in trouble. Still, he's alive, back in less than a day even.]

Thank you.

OH WOW. HEAVY, MAN.

Death isn't the answer!

[identity profile] cantmissscooby.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It's, like, spreading aggression! First someone died in port and now someone died here! We've all got to get really beautiful soon or else we're all going to die...

[identity profile] exploringdaniel.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god. First the killing at port, and now another one.

I'm fairly certain it's not mine. He's never been an addict, according to his file. Who's...the victim?

I was talking with him over the journal most of the day. He still thinks that this is just a normal boat trip. I think he was a bit too busy trying to push my buttons to kill somebody.

Prefect...I don't think that Prefect would fit any of the 'qualifications' that would make my inmate want to kill him.

God...thank heavens for that new cellblock. That narrows down the list of inmates it could be. Do you have any suspects yet?

[identity profile] kurt-bamf.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
You can strike Mr. Redeker from the list of suspects. He has been in his room all day. I do not think he has a history of drug use but he does have a reputation on the Barge for being... um, eccentric.

Rose told me her inmate was into getting high. She also said she'd just taken away his stash of, like, everything and forced him to go without. No phased withdrawal, no infirmary detox, nothing... I warned her that'd probably end up bad, but she claimed he somehow turned out fine with it.

Sounds like someone found them an alternative supply.

I guess this just makes you feel like kicking him in the nuts, right about now, huh?

...

Great. Really, really, brilliant this is.

[identity profile] sheis-stilllost.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I reckon so, yeah. It wouldn't surprise me really.

God, I thought he'd learn by now. He still doesn't know that I know about that assault.

[identity profile] sailing-sparrow.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
For a ship full of dead persons, there seems to be an awful lot of death happening.

Wish I could help you mate, but me inmate's already locked up for his part in that particular bit o' trouble back at port. All the luck to you in sorting things out.

[identity profile] sailing-sparrow.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope not. Being dead once is more than enough for me.
