[Warden Filter]
I don't know how many times I've said this by now... Stop it. Stop giving Prefect alcohol. Just stop. I can't believe-- he's an ALCOHOLIC. I've told the lot of you, more than once, that he can't have any alcohol. Don't give him any, and if you catch your inmates giving him some, tell me.
I expect the inmates to undermine my work with Prefect, but you? There is no reason-- NONE-- to go behind my back and subvert what I'm doing with him. It's not cool, it's not funny, and it's not harmless. When you get him pissed, you're HURTING HIM. Y'know, maybe they've got some kinda magic pill to cure alcoholism where some of you are from, but where I come from? It doesn't work like that. It's a long, tough process, and it doesn't just vanish overnight. It sticks with you for life. Every time you go behind my back and get him drunk for a laugh, it sets us back. It's selfish, and it's making a joke of a disease, and it leaves me to pick up the pieces when everything goes south for him.
This? Being here on the Barge? It isn't about you; it's about them, the Inmates.
I don't want to hear any excuses. Don't do it again.
[AND ADDED LATER, after he's chilled out some, MIGHT AS WELL MAKE SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE OUT OF THIS POST:]
Maybe-- and think about it before you write it off-- but maybe we should look towards establishing some sort of... AA/NA group for the Barge. I know the setting doesn't really lend itself to the whole... anonymous thing, but it's a start.
[A crazy half-laugh.] What the hell, maybe even Serial Killers Anonymous.
[OOC: Pretend he said this sooner, like, right after the big drunk post, I guess. Also, the animal post: I got busy, then notifs died. HOWEVER, I plan on going back and tagging them now, so you're free to ignore Sam's tags if you don't feel like going back to such an old thread, or you can respond. EITHER WAY.]

It couldn't work in person. Maybe run the group on a special filter, somehow?

Warden Filter - Sam's not letting this crap go in private anymore
fine but Kirk"s going to make him sound crazy
Yes, because "stay away from my inmate until i can trust you not to enable him" is totally nuts
who's the one slinging names and curse words around here, Sammy? huh?

But it is a good idea.

If people are down for this idea, I wanna do it. I... and no fucking offence to Libby or any of that shit, but it's better coming from people with experience with actually going through that shit.
So I wanna do it, because... well, I kicked heroin, and the best help I got was from a former junkie. And if anyone throws that back in my face, I'll fucking kill 'em. I've got some fucking conditions, though.
Firstly - no fucking warden can make anyone come. As in force them to turn up. Because you have to fucking want to quit this shit, and want help. You can't have it forced upon you, because then you're just gonna kick back against it. It won't take long, especially for drug addicts around this place for people to want to - the lack of drugs avaliable'll fucking pull that one, especially if you've got a warden who can persuade you to. I ain't having anyone frogmarched in there, though.
Secondly - Toshiko's got a point about how we can make it more anonymous, but, I think most fucking people, in return for their privacy being respected, will fucking respect other people's.
I also have a fucking huge debt to pay.

I think you've got a point about the lack of supply as a driving force, except for the alcoholics. They've got an endless supply here, because even the wardens are funnelling it down to them. We need to put better safeguards on the pub.
I'm more concerned about the sort who'd try to get in on it just to get dirt on the others. We need to make sure that the people who participate are going to have the strictest confidentiality.

But, have we actually considered two things: a) is there a warden who supervises the pub at all - there's two inmates that work in there, and whilst I wouldn't want to think they'd actually just take stuff and hand it out, it's surely a weak point?
And b)
I can see myself being hated for thisfor everyone's sake, there is a reason why opening hours were invented. It's just a general comment, but there'd be less... blatant drunkeness if we simply had the pub shut after a certain time, and not re-open until another time. We don't need to be able to drink 24 hours a day, and it can only make those of us with problems with alcohol - both inmates and wardens - lives more difficult, having it avaliable all the time. That's just something I was thinking aboutbecause most of my life was shutting pubs, let's be honest, not entirely relevant.warden filter
There isn't, far as I know. I'm surprised inmates are even allowed to work in there, considering... you're not even supposed to be in there without your warden. Which means we've either got unsupervised inmates in there, or their wardens are sitting around, getting pissed, and not supervising the flow of alcohol.
At this point, I'm with you on establishing set hours for the pub. That thing's become a bloody nuisance.

I thought Kirk was supervising, with Shego working there, but...apparently, it's a good thing he isn't.

Sorry for the tl;dr respsonse, Rosum. OTL]
It's hard for me to imagine that there's any Warden here on the Barge that would do that. To just totally disregard a person's alcoholism is just the pinnacle of irresponsibility and, well, stupidity. Alcohol by itself, in this place more so than any other, is just begging for trouble, especially when it's an Inmate that's getting it. I also think that applies to Wardens as well, but. I suppose that isn't the point I'm trying to make right now. And I think whoever did do this should get some kind of reprimand, or a disincentive for doing this again.
...And I think if people are willing to go to such a group to deal with this sort of problem, then I wholeheartedly endorse the idea. I'm not sure how'd you do the whole anonymous bit, but. Still.
[warden filter]
Short of holding the meetings over a special filter on the network... yeah.
