Warden Suggestion Box

Since we're all on different schedules, I thought it best to work out standard Policies and Procedures for proper Wardening, expectations for Inmate behaviour, rules & regulations, and consequences for breaking said rules here. This way, we can establish some consistency and fairness.

This can be as anonymous and confidential as you'd like.

[OOC: In response to this entry. YES SAM IS A DORK. AND HE WILL CONTINUE TO BE ONE UNTIL GENE STOPS HIM. Anyway, here's how it goes. Wardens (AND INMATES) can drop suggestions. This can be done "anonymously" (just state that it's anonymous in the subject line) or a name can be left. You can also make it up for discussion (so everybody can weigh in), or private (so, I guess, you and Sam can correspond, and he'll make it up for discussion later if he chooses). If you want it Private, just state that in the subject line as well.

Yeah, I totally expect him to just get trolled for this. BUT SAM WANTS RUUUUULES.

By the way, if some of the suggested rules actually DO address an issue that we, OOCly, need to consider, and they go over well during discussions, they may actually be implemented as game rules.]

While I... suppose Bible education could be offered on a voluntary basis, I really think the latter suggestion would be counterproductive to rehabilitation.

If an inmate is known to frequently cause trouble with others and their warden never does anything to discourage this, I think the other wardens should take action instead of simply letting him get away with it.

Perhaps require that such inmates are supervised at all times.

Or you could let the inmates take their revenge.

That sounds like a fair suggestion, within reason. We'll have to establish a system to ensure that this is enacted without discrimination or personal feelings influencing the decision or actions taken.

To the latter suggestion: No. Absolutely not. And that you're even requesting that shows me this is personal for you.

Inmates and/or Wardens getting to visit their home worlds-just for a few days, nothing long. You know, to take care of unfinished business, see a loved one, something like that. If it's an Inmate, he/she can have a Warden tag along to make sure that he/she doesn't get into any trouble.

I believe I have a suggestion that doesn't fall into the category of "Punting the Wardens off of the Barge" or "More Women".

It seems to me that certain inmates are given leave to run amok. Perhaps a jury of their peers - and a panel of wardens - might be a better practice for rule enforcement than locking them in their rooms or taking away their pornography privledges. Allow a jury to decide their guilt and punishment.

If they are found guilty, have them destroyed. Capitol punishment is the greatest deterrent for delinquent behaviour.

As for the wardens...weed out the corrupt officials. I have reason to suspect that "good" and "fair" are not prerequisites for the job of rehabilitating an individual on this godforsaken boat.

Um... while I do think the latter's necessary, I'm not so sure about capitol punishment. We're not here to be executioners.

I get really bored really easily on the Barge, perhaps we could have some kind of mandatory work program? Where I was from, Prisons would have their inmates learn skills such as carpentry, or making license plates for cars, or even stitching together high quality sports gear and equipment for the discriminating and thrifty buyer!

Also, maybe we should have set meal times? To give life here a little more structure and community and get everyone into one place at the same time to listen to me preach at them and prevent gangs and cliques forming.

I think if we have Inmates do any work, it should be more... useful to the setting than that. What would we do with all that stuff?

Right. And that'd make it easier to stop a fight-- since the Dining Hall seems to be the place for those.
