093 - LOL PLZ BACKDATE TO SHORTLY AFTER THE END OF THE LAST FLOOD // Voice.
[Warden Filter]
I need a pint, a whiskey, an entire bottle of house red, don't care. I just want to have a drink and forget we're on the bloody Barge for a few hours.
...
That's an invitation to join, by the way.
[Private to Prefect]
We're gonna take a few days in the CES once you're out of there.
[Private to the Admiral]
This probably isn't even necessary, but I don't want Prefect to be able to contact Sylar over the network at all. I don't want him to so much as see or hear anything Sylar says. Period.
[Private to Tim Drake]
[He's obviously trying to keep his voice CALM AND COLLECTED, but there's a clear undercurrent of seething anger in his voice.]
Right, I get there was a flood on, yeah? We can't always keep up with our duties when our heads aren't even screwed on straight, fine. But, seeing as it's over, I've got a question for you. Just how many times is your inmate gonna be allowed to kill and attack people with his bloody super powers before you [LOL FORGET BEING CALM, it's Sam. He must shout.] DO THE RESPONSIBLE THING OF EITHER KEEPING A FUCKING EYE ON HIM OR REMOVING HIS ABILITY TO HURT OTHERS? If I hadn't run in when I had, I don't even-- I can't-- You have no idea, none, how much your fucking inmate could've set Prefect back. How can you even think to unleash him on regular people who can't even FIGHT BACK against fireballs and lightning bolts or whatever-the-hell it is he's got?
[Calming breath. Phew. His voice is still sharp, and he's barely keeping his temper in check.] I've had it with Sylar. I'm finished. Don't you ever, ever let him come near Prefect again. I don't care if you have to intercept all of his communications to do it, I don't care if you have to shadow him, if I hear of him so much as LOOKING at Prefect, I'm gonna bang him up with or without your say-so. And if he uses his powers to hurt anybody else, and you don't do anything about it? I'm gonna go to every other warden here 'til we've got enough to go over your head and get the Admiral to put a stop to him.
[OOC: SORRY I REALLY MEANT TO POST THIS EARLIER, but I've been super busy. Also, lolsorry Tim, I know it's not entirely your fault, but Sam points fingers and yells when he's frustrated. And he only knows about Sylar abusing his abilities since Prefect told him he used them in the fight, which is all I know, too, so Sam probably doesn't have all the details of whatever deal Tim and Sylar has, or if Tim did anything, etc etc.]

Private - nothing to respond to but o'brien is concerned/has ulterior motives.
Is Prefect alright, comrade?
Private - COOL
He's recovering. No permanent harm done, at least.
Re: Private - also easier to show concern to sam than prefect himself for some reason.
I don't really know how he got hurt, comrade, just that he did, and because he trusted whoever he was talking about.
Right, comrade.
Private - Who knew
Private - it's probably the 'I've got an ulterior motive when I talk to sam. this isn't concern, no'

If you're done ranting, I hope you're interested in the other side of things, because I know I am. I need to know more about Sylar and Prefect, and I need to know why Prefect picked you over Sylar - because as sorry as I am for potentially setting Prefect back, I think plenty of damage was done to Sylar before I ever came aboard.
Sylar had already stopped himself by the time you came in. He and I have a deal about who he uses his powers against, and except for the fight with Prefect - which was the result of a flood - he's kept his end. If you have any idea how much of an accomplishment that was, you wouldn't be yelling at me like it'll make everything better.
[Private]
You want to know why Prefect, who I've looked after and tried to keep from harm, picked me over the bloke who tried to drive him to suicide? Really? I don't know what kind of crap your inmate's been throwing at you, but it sounds like a deluded version of events.
Funny, seeing as you weren't even there, so you've only got his word that he's stopped himself. When I came in, he was holding a sharp object and Prefect was on the floor, bleeding, so don't you DARE minimise what happened to him just because your inmate managed to show JUST enough restraint to back off after I'd pulled a GUN on him!
And, by the way? It wasn't the result of the flood. The flood had ended when the fight started. And if you're not gonna punish him for this because, oh, wow, he didn't KILL my inmate, just beat him around some with those powers of his, then forget it, I'm going to the other wardens about this NOW. I will not have you endanger the others here to pander one man.
[Private]
Why do you think I'm asking you? I want the whole story, not just how Sylar sees it. I'm not minimizing what happened to Prefect at all; I'm sorry it happened, but there isn't anything I can do to change that. He's alive, he'll heal, and meanwhile my inmate is freaking out about it. Things aren't always black and white and simple - and now I can take his word that he stopped, or your word that you had to force him off.
The Admiral must pair one warden with one inmate for a reason, but you can't ignore the other inmates if you're going to help yours. Now I'd like to know what happened with Prefect and Sylar, but if you'd rather go and get a bunch of other wardens to go over my head - and ruin what progress I've made with my inmate - go ahead. The hypocrisy should be interesting.
