What're you after?

A truce, a friendship. What I did with Prefect before, to him.. It was wrong. With Claude gone, I.. I want someone who might believe in me again. You're the only warden I respect at all. I know you don't trust me; I don't trust you. You're intelligent, wise. Exactly what Prefect needs, the kind of guidance I'm looking for.

I'm taking a chance.. to be honest, vulnerable-- with you. If nothing else, don't disrespect that.

How do I know you're being-- I can't risk Prefect's health on some words, Sylar.

I'm already talking to him, reconciled. We've forgiven each other. I don't expect you to forgive me so easily because you have no idea what we meant to each other. I only want you to give me the chance, to let me prove myself to you.

You could start by dropping the "we're the only ones who understand each other" crap.

I think what you have-- the both of you-- is an obsession, not a real, genuine friendship.

I don't know how to deal with people, to talk to them. I don't know how to make them understand. I have no patience for their ignorance, their sense of entitlement. People are rude, ungrateful. How do you accept that?

I get angry. I have to take my anger out on someone.. I can't just hold it in.

That's not what I meant--

People are... complicated. Even the rudest, brashest, sloppiest sod you ever met can surprise you with how sharp they can be. There's so much about people, that it's just... you can't just take them at the face of it.

When you get angry-- what sets it off, exactly? Is it sudden, or slow?

It's fast, sharp. When people insult me, hurt me. When they talk about things they shouldn't.. things they don't understand or aren't meant to know. I want to do things to them. Hurt them back.
